Where do you take a toddler who is obsessed with all things Diggers (aka tractors because he can’t say digger)?
To DIGGERLAND of course.
Situated in Castleford, West Yorkshire. DIGGERLAND is the ultimate digger fanatics dream. FYI these are not kids toys these are REAL full sized diggers and dumpers…
We live to the South of Manchester so it took us just over an hour to get there. Sebastians face was filled with pure excitement when he saw the giant ‘tractor’ at the entrance. We happend to visit on one of the hottest days of the year so we only stayed for around 3 hours but could have easily stayed longer. Sweaty toddlers and heat don’t mix well together.
Our first ride was the ‘dippy duck’s. Basically a fancy ‘hook a duck’ on a Komatsu PC14. It takes skill, which Alex didn’t have on this occasion (sorry Alex).
Next up was the ‘Dig-a-round’. A carousel made from a JCB 8060. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to rides that spin so I left this one for Daddy. Again.
After a quick Ice Cream stop we headed over to the Giant Dirt Diggers, which Sebastian was just about tall enough to ride. (The park is aimed at 4-14 years olds so there were a few rides that Sebastian was too short for).
As well as 20 different outdoor rides there are some coin operated rides as well as an indoor soft play and Little Tikes play area. We packed a little picnic and sat in the sunshine but there is a cafeteria onsite with a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, meals and drinks.
There are a total for 4 DIGGERLAND locations across the UK. Kent, Devon, Durham and of course Yorkshire.
Would be visit again? Absolutely. Anything that makes Sebastian grubby and excited is a winner in my eyes!
This post is in collaboration with DIGGERLAND. They kindly gifted me a complimentary ticket for four for this review.
