Shrek the Musical, based on the 2001 Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film tells the tale of a Scottish Green Ogre who, along with his noble steed, is challenged by Lord Farquaad to rescue a princess from a dragon-guarded tower. Seems pretty simple right?
Oh no, in true fairytale style it’s never THAT simple but in the end, Shrek falls in love with the princess and they live happily ever after. The End.

Last weekend, before my very eyes, my baby suddenly became a toddler.
Bye bye Babyhood. The past 632 days have been a blast.
Since starting nursery last January I’ve seen my baby not only grow and develop into a walking, taking, mini-me but he’s become fiercely independent. With his ‘no’s’ and on the floor tantrums when he can’t have a third biscuit or (god forbid) when I haven’t packed enough snacks! He’s practically a teenager.
Last weekend we witnessed ‘the change’. The transition from baby to toddler. We day tripped over to Biddulph Grange Gardens and, after parking the car, decided for once not to take the pram but to strap on his Toddler Pod with reins and let him roam free!

Twenty Seventeen. The year you turned ONE. The year you took your first steps. The year you ‘found your nose’. The year you ate paint. The year you had your first hair cut.
This year saw you change from baby to toddler…. and I have documented every day. Every single day. Through your eyes.
Just before Sebastian was born I bought myself a ONE LINE A DAY journal. I wanted to document every minute of my little boys life. In all honesty I thought I would cave after day seven BUT six hundred and sixteen days later I haven’t missed a single day.
I wrote it through Sebastian’s eyes and it’s a bit cheesy but here goes…..
THE HIGHLIGHTS OF TWENTY SEVENTEEN BY SEBASTIAN. Continue reading “One Line a Day || 2017 through Sebastian’s eyes”
Back in August I visited the most instagrammable event of the year. FRIENDSFEST. (Could I BE any later with this review?)
Even though Friends ended 13 years ago it still has a major cult following and the lives of Chandler Bing, Phoebe Buffay, Monica Geller, Ross Geller, Rachel Green and Joey Tribbiani are still continuously aired on Comedy Central.
Friendsfest, hosted by Comedy Central is an annual celebration of the show. I attended its stint at Heaton Park in Manchester. For £26 myself and Maggie got our Friends geek on and visited the apartments of Joey and Chandler & Monica and Rachel. Continue reading “The one where Helen & Maggie went to Friendsfest”
I love Autumn but I hate Winter. Don’t get me wrong there is something romantic about December. The build-up to Christmas means everyone is happy and there’s a certain magic in the air when you have a child. I hate winter because I hate being cold, I despise wet leaves and don’t even get me started on day old snow.
After being cooped up inside with coughs and colds we decided to brush off the cobwebs and have a day out to our local national trust property. The heavens obviously opened and after a quick moan from me (I hate the rain too) we slipped on our wellies and braved the drizzle.
