Oh Summer, where have you been hiding for the past million days? I’m sure you will agree that it’s nice to feel 25°C on your skin for longer than a week…

Instagram at the moment is full of pretty flower fields and one in particular has caught my eye but it’s just too hot for a six hour round road trip with a toddler in tow.

Instead we opted to travel just under an hour to Inglenook Farm for brunch and a play in their lavender field.

I love Autumn but I hate Winter. Don’t get me wrong there is something romantic about December. The build-up to Christmas means everyone is happy and there’s a certain magic in the air when you have a child. I hate winter because I hate being cold, I despise wet leaves and don’t even get me started on day old snow.

After being cooped up inside with coughs and colds we decided to brush off the cobwebs and have a day out to our local national trust property. The heavens obviously opened and after a quick moan from me (I hate the rain too) we slipped on our wellies and braved the drizzle. Day Tripping || ‘Oh Mr Tumble’

It was 2016 and Sebastian was flat out napping in my arms. Unable to reach the remote, I found myself watching CBeebies (we’ve ALL been there). On this particular day, a familiar row of cottages popped up on screen. Only this time they looked different. The doors were yellow with a multitude of rainbow spots and some clown seemed to live in one of them….18 months later I know exactly who that clown is… Mr Tumble and those cottages are in a village I have visited a million times AND where I got married. Styal Village in Cheshire.

On a chilly Sunday morning and gagging for a nice pot of earl grey and a slice of banana bread I thought ‘hey let’s see if Mr Tumble is in for a cuppa’ and off we went on an adventure to find this famous clown.  Continue reading “Day Tripping || ‘Oh Mr Tumble’”
