Last weekend, before my very eyes, my baby suddenly became a toddler.
Bye bye Babyhood. The past 632 days have been a blast.
Since starting nursery last January I’ve seen my baby not only grow and develop into a walking, taking, mini-me but he’s become fiercely independent. With his ‘no’s’ and on the floor tantrums when he can’t have a third biscuit or (god forbid) when I haven’t packed enough snacks! He’s practically a teenager.
Last weekend we witnessed ‘the change’. The transition from baby to toddler. We day tripped over to Biddulph Grange Gardens and, after parking the car, decided for once not to take the pram but to strap on his Toddler Pod with reins and let him roam free!

I love Autumn but I hate Winter. Don’t get me wrong there is something romantic about December. The build-up to Christmas means everyone is happy and there’s a certain magic in the air when you have a child. I hate winter because I hate being cold, I despise wet leaves and don’t even get me started on day old snow.
After being cooped up inside with coughs and colds we decided to brush off the cobwebs and have a day out to our local national trust property. It was 2016 and Sebastian was flat out napping in my arms. Unable to reach the remote, I found myself watching CBeebies (we’ve ALL been there). On this particular day, a familiar row of cottages popped up on screen. Only this time they looked different. The doors were yellow with a multitude of rainbow spots and some clown seemed to live in one of them….18 months later I know exactly who that clown is… Mr Tumble and those cottages are in a village I have visited a million times AND where I got married. Styal Village in Cheshire.
On a chilly Sunday morning and gagging for a nice pot of earl grey and a slice of banana bread I thought ‘hey let’s see if Mr Tumble is in for a cuppa’ and off we went on an adventure to find this famous clown. Continue reading “Day Tripping || ‘Oh Mr Tumble’”
Well hello Autumn I have been waiting for you.
I adore Autumn. Burnt orange leaves, a slight chill in the air, pumpkin spiced lattes, darker evenings, autumnal boots and all the other typical clichés that are associated with this time of year.
Back in the summer we went fruit picking at Kenyon Hall Farm and I have been eagerly waiting for Autumn aka pumpkin season to arrive as I wanted an excuse to go back and pick a pumpkin. Continue reading “Day Tripping || Pumpkin Picking”
Yesterday we were lucky enough to have our names on the guest list for the HAPPY SUNDAZE event at The Wonder Inn hosted by the wonderful ladies from Our Kids Social.
The Wonder Inn was the perfect location for a ‘right old northern knees up with your nippers’ – from the outside it looks like a tiny old pub next to Shude Hill tram stop (blink and you’ll miss it) but on the inside it’s a leafy labyrinth of rooms and passageways, dimly lit with fairy lights providing the perfect magical atmosphere for young minds.
