The Wonder Inn was the perfect location for a ‘right old northern knees up with your nippers’ – from the outside it looks like a tiny old pub next to Shude Hill tram stop (blink and you’ll miss it) but on the inside it’s a leafy labyrinth of rooms and passageways, dimly lit with fairy lights providing the perfect magical atmosphere for young minds.
Picture the scene…. you’re out shopping and have an arm full of clothes that need to be tried on… you thrust your beloved Mullbery ‘Del Ray’ over to your husband, ‘hold this, i’ll be ten minutes‘ and you disappear into H&M’s changing rooms. Rolling his eyes he stands outside for twenty minutes, gripping the handle with his thumb and forefinger, nodding to all the other men who feel just as awkward as him and generally being uncertain regarding the whole ‘bag holding’ etiquette…
I love love love Sundays…lazy mornings followed by a long walk in the country or a trip into the city centre for a flat white or two and some food.

So Sunday was Alex’s second Fathers Day and we headed into the city that he ‘really really loves’… Manchester. He ‘really really really loves’ Vancouver but hey we won’t going back there anytime soon (sorry Alex).
