Have you noticed at that my Instagram account has a NEW colour theme? It kinda has a warm feel to it with punchy teals & coral and its’ all down to the Bethany Poteet preset I purchased for Adobe Lightroom.
I’m going to show you how I edit my Instagram photos using Adobe Lightroom.
I use the free Adobe Lightroom mobile app for iPhone. I do have the desktop version but I prefer to edit on my phone.
As you can see the image is rather dark in places which takes the emphasis away from Sebastian and I.
I use the SAND preset from Bethany’s SANDY PACK. It’s super simple and involves copying the setting from the supplied image and paste onto your own. Voila. What a difference already!
Please note that a preset is a good starting point when editing an image and additional adjustments may often be required as lighting situations differ from image to image.
Next up I straighten the image – 9/10 what you think is straight isn’t always the case.
Then I crop to a square. I usually make sure the subject(s) are in the centre but it looked better with us slightly to the right.
And that’s me done in Adobe Lightroom.
I love love love to add a dusty texture to my images and for this I use an app called AFTERLIGHT.
On this particular image I also added a cheeky little light leak. Light leak 8 to be exact.
See how the edges have a slight glow? I’m not always a fan of light leaks sometimes they are over done and your photo looks shite.
Finally my favourite part. The old dusty filter. Again some look crap but my favourites are 1,2,9 & 10. You can choose between white dust and black. For this image I chose number 2 with white.
